One could say, if it wasn’t for the French, Toyota would have half as many recalls. The reason being, that the most recalled Toyotas in 2017 were ProAce vans, which are produced in France on a shared production line with Peugeots and Citroëns. Therefore, it is only logical that all defects are shared. The recall was announced due to brake assistent system, missing body seals, fuel tank neck seals, the risk of a wheel falling off, poorly screwed shock absorbers or insufficiently tightened joints in the airbag unit…

Due to the risk of the driver’s airbags exploding, Toyota recalled it in 2017 as well as old Corollas made between 2001-2004. The driver’s airbag could spontaneously deploy in Hiluxes and Yarises made from 2011 to 2014. Airbag issues trouble also Toyota Versos produced in 2010-2015 as well as Landcruisers with the production years between 2003-2016.

In addition to airbags, we can also find for example, defects in turbo attachment and possible fuel leakage in Toyota RAV4s. The relevant production years are shown in the link under each model.
