In 2018, Opel announced 20 recalls that affected 11 of its models, according to the Rapex notifications. How to check your VIN for free to see if any of them is also relevant to your car?
The largest recall in terms of the models concerned was announced by Opel in 2018 at the 30th week. The incorrectly mounted sealing ring may lead to leakage of oil on the turbocharger lines with the Astra, Cascada, Insignia and Zafira models manufactured from January to early April 2018. The leaked oil may ignite and cause a fire.
In 2018, most of the recalls were announced by Opel for Insignia and Grandland X – five problems each. The reasons are poorly tightened screws on the lower shock absorber mountings, the oil penetration into the intake circuit of the engine, or moisture penetration into the central locking control unit.
Three recalls were announced with the Crossland X, steering problems appeared with the Ampera (6/2016 – 8/2018), Movano (2016-2017) and Combo (MY 2018). With the Opel Corsa from the beginning of 2018, the bonnet may open during driving.
* We’ve divided all the recalls according to the models into the table at the end of the article.
