In July 2018, 17 recalls concerning 32 models from 13 carmakers were issued, according to the EU Rapex alert system. Most recalls were announced by Opel (3x), Mercedes-Benz and BMW (both 2x). Audi, Dacia, Ford, Hyundai, Maserati, Mini, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Seat and Volkswagen issued one recall each. The oldest recalled cars are from 2005 (Mitsubishi) and 2006 (BMW).

Opel Crossland X may burn, Hyundai Santa Fe with a steering problem (27/18)
Opel recalls two of its SUV models with French roots. The larger Opel Grandland X has a faulty sewing on the seat cover that can prevent the side airbags from deploying as planned. At the smaller Opel Crossland X, the wiring harness can get in contact with the bodywork and worn out. BMW, Mini, Mercedes and Maserati announced recalls due to front axle problems (28/18)

Ford Solves Another Problem: Clutch Pressure Plate May Break (29/18)
At the 29th week of 2018, Ford announces another recall through the Rapex system. This time concerns the C-Max, Focus, Kuga, Mondeo, Galaxy and Transit Connect models with a production date between 2014-2018. The clutch pressure plate may break, says the report – read the full article.

BMW Replaces Battery Cables: Engine Can Stall Unexpectedly (30/18)
The BMW recall was initially announced only for the right-handed vehicles. Now the problem with the plug connection for the positive battery cable extends to all the production of the below-mentioned models in the period of September 12, 2006 to June 20, 2011. Frictional corrosion due to vehicle vibration on the plug of the power distributor (located between the glove compartment and the front wall) may affect the power supply of the vehicle – read the full article.
