In 2018, Toyota announced 14 recalls that affected 16 of its models, according to the Rapex notifications. How to check your VIN for free to see if any of them is also relevant to your car?
Not all of the recalls will always be resolved at the first try. This is the case with the renewed Toyota recall for Auris and Corolla models produced between 2006 – 2013, which has previously been replaced the airbag inflator of the front passenger. But it could have been installed in the wrong orientation and therefore the owners have to visit the authorized dealership again.
Another large recall due to airbag problems was announced by Toyota in November, and this time the Japanese carmaker recalled its cars manufactured between 2001-2006, namely the models Avensis, Corolla, Picnic and Yaris.
Several recalls have been announced in 2018 by Toyota for its hybrid systems – the Prius in all versions, Auris HV and C-HR Hybrid were affected – see the table below for details.
Three recalls also concerned the Toyota ProAce van, which was the most recalled Toyota’s car in 2017. Two were related to oil leakage and one with a trailer coupling device.
The Toyota Aygo in the four-door version may have a problem with the rear door glass glued connection. With cars produced in the years 2005 – 2014, the glass could consequently detach completely from the vehicle. The recall was announced in November.
* We’ve divided all the recalls according to the models into the table at the end of the article.
